On Monday, April 6 the Bancroft Fire Department had the pleasure of hosting a hands on field day for one of our local Cub Scout packs. We partnered with Bancroft, IA EMS and the Kossuth County Sheriff's Office to help the Cub Scout Pack 159 NW Iowa kids complete their safety adventures. Lots of questions were answered and the evening was enjoyed by everyone involved!

Flashback from the past!! We came across this old photo of some of Bancroft's former firefighters! Can you identify any of them? If so please post their names and I will update post with them. I am guessing the photo is from the late 1970's, can you pinpoint the year?

Congratulations to our raffle winners Saturday night! Our lucky winners were Evan Bollinger from Fenton, IA winning the Beer/Cash Option, Zach Sternhagen of Emmetsburg, IA winning the S&B Products Pallet, and Rob Renner of Lemars, IA winning the 1/2 of Beef.

Thank you to all of our residents and businesses who stepped up and came out to support us in our endeavor of trying to fund the construction of a new fire station. We appreciate each and every one of you!! THANK YOU from the Bancroft Fire Department!

The Bancroft Fire Department took advantage of the mild weather monday morning and led a fire drill and educational class for the children and staff at Kidstop Childcare and Preschool. We enjoyed assisting the staff of the daycare with an active fire drill as well as showing the children our trucks and tools. Many of the firefighters helping with the activities have been working towards achieving their Firefighter 2 certification, and this training will help them towards completing their goal!

We had a little fun while training with our Hurst Jaws of Life Spreader. We practiced carrying raw eggs and played some “cribbing” Jenga! of Life Training Alex Air Apparatus

We are delighted to announce that the first-ever Bancroft Fire dart tournament is in the books and we are extremely happy with the results. We would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every participant who joined us, as your presence was instrumental in making this event a reality. Furthermore, we are deeply grateful to our sponsors and volunteers, including members of the department and there families, for their invaluable support.

We hosted two separate tournaments during the day. The advertised tournament featured the following winners:
1st place, with a prize of $800, went to Spencer and Corey.
2nd place, with a prize of $400, went to Mike and Carson.
3rd place, with a prize of $200, went to Phillip and Jerry.

Our primary tournament was followed by a second tournament with a lower entry fee, and the top three finishers in that bracket were:
1st place, winning $288, went to Travis and Brady. 2nd place, winning $180, went to Brian and Lewie. 3rd place, winning $108, went to Jeremy and Spencer.

We would like to thank everyone again and look forward to seeing you again.
