Greater Bandon Association The Greater Bandon Association is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization dedicated to the community and economic revitalization of the greater Bandon area.

Mission Statement

The Greater Bandon Association is a catalytic community building organization dedicated to the community and economic vitalization of the greater Bandon area with a focus on preserving and building upon its historical assets and culture. Vision Statement

Our approach to revitalization is a commitment to creating a place of shared prosperity, equal access to opportunity and inclusive engagement. We wish to develop and implement community-based strategies to enhance economic opportunity, build strong neighborhoods and ensure a dynamic framework for quality growth and development. Core Values

Our core values are based upon our community members’ appreciation of and support for:
• maintaining the small-town charm that Bandon possesses;
• natural and cultural amenities that attract people to live in and visit Bandon:
• expanding categories of goods and services to make Bandon even more livable;

Tonight is the final night for the Bandon’s Alive After Five for the 2026 season! As you sip and stroll your way through Old Town Bandon, take some time to say thanks to the shop keepers and business and building owners who have made this award-winning tradition such a big part of our community life in Bandon for the past dozen years for residents and visitors alike!

Music, art, w**e, sales, and refreshments! It all takes place on Friday evening October 16th in Old Town Bandon from 5 to 7 PM. Stroll through all Old Town for the final time for the season of this community gathering, Alive After Five, in Bandon.

A w**e walk continues to be one of the highlights of Alive After Five. To participate in the w**e walk, glasses and walking maps will be on sale for $10 at the glass picnic shelter on the Boardwalk. W**e glasses and maps will be available from 5 to 6:30.

Art By The Sea Gallery will be serving light refreshments and white w**e at Friday’s Alive After Five. Vote for your favorite artist at their community show “Falling For Color” and meet the art of their newest members Eilzabeth Roberts and Sally Weymouth. Plus Jen Lee will be doing demos.

The Greater Bandon Association has named Andea Burke as Bandon’s Volunteer of the Month for October 2026. Harv Schubothe, President of GBA’s Board of Directors, made the presentation of the award to Andrea at the October 5th meeting of Bandon’s City Council. Andrea received a commemorative plaque as well as a gift certificate from Winter River Books in recognition for her contributions to the community.

Andrea was nominated for the many organizations that she has stepped forward to help in Bandon. Like so many volunteers, once you step forward to serve one organization, you soon find yourself being asked to help another. Andrea is a good example, providing so much energy for non-profit groups such as the St. John Medical Loan Closet, Shoreline Education for Awareness, the South Coast chapter of the Native Plant Society, Friends of Bandon Parks and Recreation as well as our schools Ocean Crest and Harbor Lights.

An educator for many years, Andrea was recruited by Shoreline Education for Awareness for their kid-oriented activities. She loves sharing her knowledge of the natural world not just with children but with people of all ages.

The Greater Bandon Association will continue honoring the many Bandon volunteers who make a difference in the community each month. Nominations for the November award should be emailed to [email protected] or mailed to P.O. Box 161 by the close of business on September 25th.
