This page is dedicated to the Coquille River Lighthhouse (often referred to as the "Bandon Lighthouse"), located in the Bullards Beach State Park across the river from the Town of Bandon in Oregon State. The Lighthouse lies only a few hundred yards North and West of Bandon across the Coquille River, but the entrance to Bullards Beach State Park is actually 2 miles North of Bandon off Highway 101.

From the Park entrance, the Lighthouse is reached along a winding road which cuts through dune areas to Bullards Beach. This is the only way to reach the lighthouse by vehicle. The Lighthouse can also be reached from the North via Bullards Beach itself.

Sad. The Coast Guard love to change things some people love. To many people, the sound of a foghorn is an atmospheric and comforting sound. The Coast Guard will do anything to save a few cents. Between the town's decision to remove the solar powered light from our beloved lighthouse lantern room several years ago and now the Coast Guard's decision to silence our foghorn now, Bandon continues to lose a lot of the things that add to the charm and ambience of our little town by the sea!

Well, I plan to return to my beloved Bandon-By-The-Sea, my hometown, and our lovely little Lighthouse for a visit starting April 15th! I can't wait to get there! Anyone who knows me and will be around during that time, lets meet and have some lunch or coffee. Contact me, I would love to see you!

It would be great to see more photos that folks might have of the Coquille River Lighthouse through the years, as it has changed its colors a few times and been in various conditions too.
