Residents are invited to the Community Center for the annual Independence Day golf cart parade and cookout!

DAY: Saturday
DATE: July 4, 2026
TIME: 10:00 AM golf cart parade line-up
LOCATION: Line-up location will be behind the Community Center, on Iron Gate.

10:30 AM 🎆 golf cart parade begins led by the City of Baneberry Fire Dept. Decorate your golf cart—prizes for the best patriotic ensemble. Spectators can watch from The Inn or the Community Center.

11:00 AM 🎇 cookout begins. SEC will provide all-beef hot dogs off the grill, chili dogs, chips, and drinks. Residents are always welcome to bring a side dish or dessert to share.

100 years ago today, important steps were taken toward creating Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

While the Smokies weren't officially established until 1934, it was on May 22, 1926, that President Calvin Coolidge signed the bill authorizing its creation.
