A high school day, just for the Class of 2030.

Our freshmen had the building to themselves as they learned their schedules, found their way around, and got a feel for what high school will ask of them.

The day also included time to talk about expectations, organization and executive functioning, hear from upperclassmen representing different clubs, and work intentionally with their peers.

Behind the scenes, it has been a great week across BASD.

Our teachers and staff have been learning, planning, preparing, and getting everything ready for our students.

From our facilities to our classrooms, we are ready and excited to welcome everyone back on Monday!

Today we welcomed our new and non-tenured teachers to SlaterNation!

The day included professional development, sessions to learn District systems, and time to begin getting familiar with building specific practices and procedures. Most importantly, it was a chance to connect with colleagues and begin building relationships that will support a great school year.

And, of course, we appreciate The Smokin’ Pasty Co. for providing a traditional Slate Belt lunch with a modern twist, topped off with some Jacktown Ice Cream. A great way to welcome our newest members to SlaterNation!
