Hydrant Flushing

The City of Bangor Department of Public Works will be performing hydrant flushing September 8th - 10th throughout the City.

Hydrant flushing can cause temporary discoloration in water. If you experience this, please run your water on cold until the water runs clear.

🐾 FOUND DOG🐾

This dog was found on Bangor Street around noon today (Wednesday, 09/02/26) and has been picked up by Animal Control.

If you recognize this dog or know who the owner may be, please help us get the word out by sharing this post.

The Regular City Council Meeting scheduled for Monday, September 7, 2026 @ 7PM has been rescheduled to Tuesday, September 8, 2026 @ 7PM.

The meeting date has been changed due to fact that Monday, September 7, 2026 is Labor Day and City Hall is closed.

THANK YOU, TREE BUSTERS AND MORE LLC!

The City of Bangor would like to recognize Tree Busters and More LLC for their work helping prepare Veterans Memorial Park for the upcoming installation of our new memorial fence.

Tree Busters recently removed a large tree from the area where the new fence will be installed. Their work helped clear the way for the project and is another important step toward the improvements planned for the park.

Community projects like this involve a lot of work behind the scenes, and we appreciate the local businesses and individuals who help us along the way.

Thank you, Tree Busters and More LLC, for your work at Veterans Memorial Park and for helping us move this project forward!

🚧 TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE – CEMETERY ROAD 🚧

Consumers Energy is continuing to make progress on its gas infrastructure improvement project within the City of Bangor.

To complete a gas main tie-in, Cemetery Road will be temporarily closed between N. Center Street and 56th Street. Due to the location of the existing gas main and the equipment needed to complete the work, excavation will impact the roadway.

📅 Closure begins: Morning of Thursday, August 27
🚧 Work continues: Thursday afternoon and Friday morning
🚗 Road expected to reopen: By the end of the day Friday, August 28

The roadway will be temporarily restored so traffic control can be removed and the road reopened. Consumers Energy will complete a permanent asphalt (HMA) repair at a later date.

Please plan for an alternate route while this work is underway. We appreciate everyone's patience and cooperation as Consumers Energy completes these infrastructure improvements within the City of Bangor.
