Paving is happening next week! Beginning June 15​, the Town will be paving:

🏖 Hadley Point Road from Bayview Drive to the beach parking lot. Alternating one-way traffic will be used to divert vehicles around active paving operations.
🛣️Ledgewood Road, from Rt 3 to Rt 3; alternating one-way traffic will be used.
🚧Degregoire Park Road from Sand Point Road to Sand Pont Road. Alternating one-way traffic will be used to divert vehicles around active paving operations, but the section of road along the ocean is not wide enough to allow traffic to pass by during paving operations and a temporary partial road closure will occur.
🚗A small section of upper Rodick Street damaged by a winter water main break will be prepped on June 15th for pavement and paved in by the end of the week. In order to repair this section of upper Rodick Street, the road will be closed from Cottage Street to the Central parking lot.

📢As part of the public engagement process for developing the Sustainable Tourism Management Strategy, the Town's consultant team is conducting a survey to gather feedback from businesses on the business environment and tourism-related issues.

Don't let the fear of paying the parking meter stop you from voting! The polls are open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9th. Voting in Bar Harbor takes place at the Municipal Building, and there will be free parking Tuesday:
🚘 On Cottage Street between Holland Ave and Bridge Street
🚏 In the municipal lot (adjacent to the Municipal Building)
🎰 In the “Casino Lot” at Cottage Street and Bridge Street
Note - Fees will be enforced in all other paid parking areas.

❗Edgewood Street Traffic Interruption on Monday, May 18, 2026❗

👷The Town’s contractor will be repairing a water main leak on Edgewood Street on Monday, May 18, 2026.

⏰The work will take place between 7am and 5pm.

🚧The road will be closed to through traffic.

⚠Please seek alternate routes.

✅No customers are expected to lose water.

❗Traffic Alert for Eden Street Evening Work from May 12-15❗

🚧Alternating traffic on Eden Street at the entrance to the downtown will move from daytime to overnight hours for the rest of this week. The shift to night work is due to increased daytime traffic.

✅The impacted section will be fully open during daytime hours through Sunday, May 17 and daytime work with alternating one-way traffic will resume Monday, May 18.

✅The work is part of the West Street Dry Weather Pump Station Replacement project.

❗Traffic & Parking Alert for West Street through 5/14/26 – 5/21/26❗

👷Beginning May 14th, the Town’s Contractor will be preparing West Street from Bridge Street to Main Street for paving.

🚧During this time, West Street will remain open with alternating one-way traffic allowed around the work zone; road users should expect delays. Street parking will be impacted during milling and paving operations.

👷The preparations work includes include milling the road surface, joints on all intersections and around some structures. Once completed, the Contractor will start paving. The work Weather depending, we anticipate the Contractor will pave May 18th through May 21st.

✅This paving project is the first of the Town’s 2026 paving jobs in the downtown area, which also includes Kennebec Street, Edgewood Street, and the Ballfield Parking Lot.
