We would like to thank S.A. Comunale for their generous donation to Barberton Firefighters Local 329. This donation enabled us to purchase an electronic powered Fire Extinguisher Training prop. It will be used for community outreach and teaching at many local events and as needed by our Public Education Committee members.

For those who are not aware, all Barberton Firefighters are also Paramedics. It takes roughly 2 years of education and training to go through EMT and Paramedic school, but it doesn’t stop there. Maintaining a Paramedic license takes hundreds and possibly thousands of hours of continuing education over the course of a career. Last month Akron Childrens Hospital provided our firefighters with a hands on skills day of CHILD and INFANT cardiac arrest (with direct feedback computer monitoring), IV AND IO drug access and administration, and Endotracheal Intubation advanced airway stations.

Wednesday April 15th is our annual Prime Rib Dinner Reverse Raffle! Doors open at 6:00pm for cocktail hour. Dinner served at 7:00pm. All prepared and served by your Barberton Firefighters. We will have raffle baskets and 50/50 drawings. Very few tickets are left.
