Just a reminder…

We will be collecting electronics Saturday May 16th from 8:00am to 11:30 am at the new recycling yard located at 1537 7th Ave in Huntington.

You will not need a fob to enter the gate.

Bring us your unwanted electronics for recycling. We will accept the following items: computer towers, monitors, cords, fax machines laptops, printers, cellphones, microwaves, audio/visual equipment, small appliances, and rechargeable batteries.

As mentioned after our last event in April our contractor will begin charging us .50/lb for flatscreen televisions.

To offset that cost the following fees will apply to all flatscreen televisions:

Up to 32 inches - $5.00
33 to 40 inches - $10.00
41 to 55 inches - $15.00
56 to 65 inches - $25.00

There will be NO CHARGE for computer monitors.

Sorry but we cannot take CRTs (old tube type TVs) at this event.

See future planned events at our website:

The Barboursville, WV site for recycling is located on Depot St. adjacent to the Barboursville Public Works building. The gate at Depot Street is operational on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8am to 4pm

The new key fob reader also offers a keypad. The Rumpke drivers use the keypad to access the yard. Your fob will give you access. Hold it near the face of the key pad. You will hear 3 beeps and the gate will open. PLEASE make sure you allow the gate to stop moving before moving through.

We’re going to try this again…The last one disappeared in less than 24 hours…

For those looking to drop off old Virginia Ave fobs… We placed a drop box inside the entry gate (on the right side as you enter). You can drop off those old fobs that don’t work with the new system and we’ll send them to our e-recycler.

Some important changes for our upcoming e-recycling events. The contractor that takes our electronics recently informed us that they will start charging .50/pound to take flatscreen televisions. While unfortunate, it is not a surprise. Therefore beginning at the May 18th collection event we will have to charge a fee to take flatscreen televisions. We are working to figure out a fair flat rate and will share in advance of the next event.
