USDA-FSA reminds producers of the importance of timely reporting all hay and pasture acreage. With the grazing season being primarily dry to date, the possibility of programs raises. While nothing is set in stone at this time, you have the opportune ability to report all acreage timely without late-file penalty charges until July 15th. Please note, any program that may come up would most likely require 2026 livestock inventory. It is a great time to be working on your inventory records starting from Jan. 1, 2026 forward notating purchases, sales, births, deaths and delineating the following categories: adult, bull (ram etc), newborn, non-adult. These things better ensure your ability participate with ease should anything be put into play currently or retroactively. We ask that you call the office and speak with FSA staff about your eligibility paperwork, farm records, maps, and acreage reports so that we can prepare everything you need. You have until July 15th to finalize any forage, row crop, vegetable, or (most) fruit crops. Barbourville USDA 606-546-3373 [email protected]

The end of the school year is coming up soooo quickly, and that means summer meals are right around the corner. Kentucky has already proven to be a leader in access to summer meals. Now, let's get more local farm foods in those meals. From a celebration week to an achievement recognition to an adaptation specifically for multiple day's meal distributions, you'll find lots of information about farm to summer meals on the network website: https://www.kyf2snetwork.com/farm-to-summer-meals We'll also be sharing highlights over the next few days.
