Knox County Middle School teachers are taking on the role of lead learners today as they explore how artificial intelligence can enhance teaching and learning with "Ed Tech Lisa".

What role does AI play in the classroom? Today's PD is equipping our teachers with new tools that empower students to think critically and take greater ownership of their learning. All competencies in our KCPS Portrait of a Learner!

Last week, we shared that several KCPS math teachers are finishing up year one of the Kentucky Numeracy Academy and preparing for year two ahead. Check out this teacher profile from them, featuring our own Olivia Holstein!

These numbers are adding up! Nineteen dedicated mathematics teachers have successfully completed Year 1 of Numeracy Counts Academy and are attending training today to add Year 2. They are learning exciting ways of teaching math.

Congratulations to Mr. Scott Prewitt, the new principal for Knox County's Alternative Programs. As a leader of many programs, he's used to the challenge. He brings leadership, teaching, and even athletic experience to the new role.

Just a reminder that Tuesday, May 19, 2026, is Election Day in Kentucky. There will be no school in the Knox County Public Schools.

School resumes on Wednesday, May 20, 2026 and the last day for students is Thursday, May 21, 2026.
