🚧 Road Closure Notice 🚧

The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) plans to close Reeds Road between Middle Gibbs Road and the Currituck County Convenience Center on Thursday, June 18, 2026, for roadway repairs.

Work is scheduled to begin during the day, and the road will reopen once repairs are complete. Residents who live within the work area will continue to have access to their homes, and the Currituck County Convenience Center, located at 132 Reeds Road, will remain open during the repairs. Barricades and traffic control devices will be in place to alert motorists of the closure.

Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead, use alternate routes when possible, and allow additional travel time.

Severe weather is possible across the entire area today, especially this afternoon into this evening. Damaging wind gusts of 60-70 mph are the main threat, though hail, localized heavy rain, and an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out. Damaging winds may lead to widespread tree damage and potential power outages. Make sure to stay weather-aware and have a way to receive any potential watches or warnings!

Corolla Beach Rescue has issued 🟡yellow flags🟡 for our beaches today 06/11/2026!

Yellow flags mean that life threatening rip currents are possible. Only experienced surf swimmers should enter the water! Corolla Beach Rescue recommends staying shallow, using flotation, and exercising extreme caution when swimming. The ocean is not a place to test out your swimming abilities, especially on a yellow flag day!

Conditions can change throughout the day, please stay alert!

In case of emergency, call 9-1-1! 9-1-1 gets the lifeguard!

🚧 Road Closure Notice 🚧

The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) plans to close Moyock Landing Drive on Thursday, June 11, 2026, for a crossline replacement.

Work is scheduled to begin around 8:00 AM, and the road will reopen once the work is complete. The closure will be located on Moyock Landing Drive between 125 Shingle Landing Villas and 134 Moyock Landing Drive. Barricades and traffic control devices will be in place to alert motorists of the closure. Residents and travelers in the area should plan ahead, use alternate routes when possible, and allow additional travel time.

🚧 Road Closure Notice 🚧

The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) has notified Currituck County that the intersection of Pinto Drive and Bison Drive in the Ranchland neighborhood will be closed on Wednesday, June 10, and Thursday, June 11, 2026, while crews replace three crosslines beneath the roadway.

Work is scheduled to begin around 8:00 AM each day, with the road expected to reopen by approximately 7:00 PM.

Barricades and traffic control devices will be in place to alert motorists of the closure. Residents and travelers in the area should plan ahead, use alternate routes when possible, and allow additional travel time.
