What a busy and fun week for Stripes in the Streets! 💦☀️

This week, we made two stops to bring a splash of fun to kids in our community! We went through over 1,000 water balloons (and not a single one survived! 😂), played lots of water games, and cooled off with an afternoon full of laughter. After all the fun, everyone enjoyed pizza for lunch.

The very best part of Stripes in the Streets isn’t the water balloons or the games—it’s when the kids ask, “Are you coming back tomorrow?” ❤️ Those simple words remind us why we do this. Building relationships, creating a safe place to have fun, and giving kids something to look forward to is what it’s all about.

A huge thank you to Ronda Bertrand, Casie Heintz, Jasmine Head and Linda Spears with Community Collaboration for Children for making the day even more special! They provided every child with fun summer activities to take home, including jump ropes, frisbees, and sidewalk chalk. Your generosity helped keep the fun going long after the water balloons were gone!

Thank you to everyone who helped make this week such a success. We love bringing smiles, creating memories, and spending time with the amazing kids in our community. We can’t wait to do it again!

Keep an eye out for the Bardstown Tiger Trolley as Stripes in the Streets hits the road again next week!

Stripes in the Street and the Tiger Trolley was at it again today, bringing a whole lot of fun, and smiles to our community!

The kiddos had an amazing time playing games, tie-dyeing t-shirts, enjoying lunch, and heading home with books, bubbles, sunglasses, and lots of other fun goodies. One of our favorite things about our community events, has been seeing the grownups getting in on the fun too—because you’re never too old for bubbles, the-dye, and a little Tiger Trolley excitement!

A special thank you to Ronda Bertrand, Jazmine Head, and Linda Spears with Community Collaboration for Children, as well as Rachel Briney with the Nelson County Health Department, for helping make these fun-filled days possible. We are so grateful for your partnership and support!

Didn’t catch us today? No worries! The Tiger Trolley will be making more rounds throughout the community this summer so keep your eyes peeled—you never know where the fun might pop up next!

Thank you to everyone who joined us today. We loved spending the day with you and can’t wait to do it again soon! 🧡📚🫧☀️

Stripes in the Streets and the Tiger Trolley was back at it again this week! ☀️🧡

We had the opportunity to visit another neighborhood and bring the fun directly to families. From games and activities to conversations and connections, it was another wonderful morning of building community and meeting families where they are.

We know there are so many great programs and opportunities available, but transportation and other barriers can sometimes make it difficult for families to participate. That’s why we’re committed to taking the fun to them and creating opportunities for connection right in their own neighborhoods.

A huge thank you to Ronda Bertrand, Linda Spears and Casie Heintz from Community Collaboration for Children, Malena Alexander from Nelson County Extension, Stacy Hill from Bardstown Primary School and Elise Lucas from Bardstown Health and Healing for saying “yes” and spending your time, energy, and hearts serving our community. Your willingness to show up, brave the heat, and connect with families makes all the difference.

We are so grateful for everyone who helps make Stripes in the Streets possible. We can’t wait to continue visiting neighborhoods throughout the summer and creating more smiles, memories, and community connections along the way! Keep an eye out for Stripes in the Streets in your neighborhood!

Stripes in the Street was a roaring success today! 🐯☀️

The Family Resource Center for Bardstown Primary School and Bardstown Early Childhood took learning and fun on the road with our Tiger Trolley for a special community event, Stripes in the Street. Families joined us for a morning filled with laughter, creativity, and connection as children played, created colorful tie-dye T-shirts, and shared lunch together.

We were excited to partner with Nelson County Extension Office through Malena Alexander and Community Collaboration for Children through Ronda Bertrand, whose support helped make the day extra special.

To encourage summer reading and outdoor play, every child received books, fun sunglasses, bubbles, candy, and a snack to take home. The event provided a wonderful opportunity for families to spend quality time together, connect with community resources, and celebrate the joy of summer learning.

A huge thank you to Malena and Ronda for their collaboration and support! Thank you for helping make this event such a memorable experience.

Thank you to the families that participated! We loved seeing so many smiling faces and can't wait for our next Tiger Trolley adventure! 🐯📚🌈🚎💛
