BARDSTOWN MIDDLE SCHOOL ADVISORY COUNCIL:

The Bardstown Middle School Youth Service Center welcomes parents, school staff, community partners, and members of the public to attend our Advisory Council meetings.

The Advisory Council works alongside the Youth Service Center to help identify student and family needs, review programs and services, and support the work of the YSC.

Advisory Council meetings are open to the public. We appreciate the involvement and support of our families and community as we work together to support BMS students and families.

💜💛 Our Grands Are Pretty Grand! 💛💜
Last night, Bardstown Primary Schools Family Resource Center partnered with Mrs. Stacy Hill, our school librarian, to host our GRAND BINGO. We are so thankful for everyone who came out and helped make the evening so much fun! It was such a special evening as we celebrated the “grands” — the grand people who make such a difference in the lives of our kindergarteners!

Our families enjoyed an evening of BINGO, laughter, and making memories together! The winners even got to take home fun board games to play with their grands or books to enjoy reading together.

A special THANK YOU to Bardstown Middle School's Student Ambassadors and Bardstown High School's National Honor Society who volunteered their time for our fun family event.

A very special THANK YOU to Kasey Willett-VanVactor, State Farm Agent, for providing popcorn and waters for our Grands Event! Your generosity helped make the evening extra special!
We are so grateful for the grandparents, family members, and special “grands” who show up, love BIG, and help our little Tigers grow! 🐯💜💛

🦠✨ We went on a GERM HUNT! ✨🦠

Last week Bardstown Primary’s Family Resource Center invited Malena Alexander from the Nelson County Extension Office to visit with our kindergarten students and teach them all about the importance of proper hand washing. 🧼👐

But we didn’t stop there…we grabbed our glow lights and went on a Germ Hunt! 🔦🦠

Our kindergarten detectives searched their classrooms and discovered just how many germs can be hiding in places we touch every day!

It was a fun, hands-on way to learn that clean hands help keep us healthy! 🧼💦💙

A BIG thank you to Malena for making learning about germs, hand washing, and healthy habits so much FUN! 🦠🔦👐

Bardstown Early Childhood and Bardstown Primary School's Family Resource Center Advisory Council will meet for the 2026-2027 year.

The main role of the Advisory Council is to offer the center coordinator guidance, oversight, and recommendations about the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of center services, programs, and activities. Since the FRYSC program is grounded in collaboration, the Advisory Council plays a crucial role in connecting home, school, and community, ensuring that the FRYSC remains focused on serving the community's needs. Below are meeting dates for all four of our FRYSC centers.

What a busy and fun week for Stripes in the Streets! 💦☀️

This week, we made two stops to bring a splash of fun to kids in our community! We went through over 1,000 water balloons (and not a single one survived! 😂), played lots of water games, and cooled off with an afternoon full of laughter. After all the fun, everyone enjoyed pizza for lunch.

The very best part of Stripes in the Streets isn’t the water balloons or the games—it’s when the kids ask, “Are you coming back tomorrow?” ❤️ Those simple words remind us why we do this. Building relationships, creating a safe place to have fun, and giving kids something to look forward to is what it’s all about.

A huge thank you to Ronda Bertrand, Casie Heintz, Jasmine Head and Linda Spears with Community Collaboration for Children for making the day even more special! They provided every child with fun summer activities to take home, including jump ropes, frisbees, and sidewalk chalk. Your generosity helped keep the fun going long after the water balloons were gone!

Thank you to everyone who helped make this week such a success. We love bringing smiles, creating memories, and spending time with the amazing kids in our community. We can’t wait to do it again!

Stripes in the Street and the Tiger Trolley was at it again today, bringing a whole lot of fun, and smiles to our community!

The kiddos had an amazing time playing games, tie-dyeing t-shirts, enjoying lunch, and heading home with books, bubbles, sunglasses, and lots of other fun goodies. One of our favorite things about our community events, has been seeing the grownups getting in on the fun too—because you’re never too old for bubbles, the-dye, and a little Tiger Trolley excitement!

A special thank you to Ronda Bertrand, Jazmine Head, and Linda Spears with Community Collaboration for Children, as well as Rachel Briney with the Nelson County Health Department, for helping make these fun-filled days possible. We are so grateful for your partnership and support!

Didn’t catch us today? No worries! The Tiger Trolley will be making more rounds throughout the community this summer so keep your eyes peeled—you never know where the fun might pop up next!

Stripes in the Streets and the Tiger Trolley was back at it again this week! ☀️🧡

We had the opportunity to visit another neighborhood and bring the fun directly to families. From games and activities to conversations and connections, it was another wonderful morning of building community and meeting families where they are.

We know there are so many great programs and opportunities available, but transportation and other barriers can sometimes make it difficult for families to participate. That’s why we’re committed to taking the fun to them and creating opportunities for connection right in their own neighborhoods.

A huge thank you to Ronda Bertrand, Linda Spears and Casie Heintz from Community Collaboration for Children, Malena Alexander from Nelson County Extension, Stacy Hill from Bardstown Primary School and Elise Lucas from Bardstown Health and Healing for saying “yes” and spending your time, energy, and hearts serving our community. Your willingness to show up, brave the heat, and connect with families makes all the difference.
