The rain blocked the sunshine outside, but it couldn't stop our Tigers from having an amazing Tiger Pawloosa inside. We are so grateful for our staff and volunteers who brought the joy to a rainy day at BPS.

Happy Earth Day! We work to protect our Earth at BPS every day by recycling, picking up after ourselves, reusing items that shouldn't go in the garbage, and always turning off lights and other electronics when we are not in our classroom. BUT TODAY IS EARTH DAY, so we celebrated a little more by taking our First Grade Kindness of the Month Students to the Annual Earth Day Celebration at the Mayor's Park. We met up with our fellow Bardstown City Schools friends at BES and BMS for a great day of learning about how we can keep our Earth and our community our priority!

Heading into Spring Break, Mrs. Kelsey’s first graders had the best time celebrating the end of reading Because of Winn-Dixie! After following Opal and her lovable dog on their adventures, we wrapped up our reading with a fun-filled party. Students enjoyed themed treats, shared their favorite moments from the story, and talked about the importance of friendship and kindness. We are so proud of our young readers for their hard work and enthusiasm—what a great way to celebrate finishing our book together!

Students enjoyed a different version of tag this past week in PE called Pirate’s Treasure. Their goal was to steal the treasure from the pirates without getting tagged. This game is a fun way to incorporate the PE standard for dodging and fleeing and to increase their cardiovascular endurance.
