It is with deep sadness that Viking Village announces the passing of Ernie Panacek on Friday, January 23rd, following a courageous battle with ALS. Ernie was a pillar of Viking Village for more than three decades, a respected leader in the commercial fishing and seafood industry, and a true legend whose vision and dedication shaped this dock and industry for generations. His hard work and commitment to fishermen has benefited thousands of lives and families. He will be deeply missed by all of us, especially by his family who he loved the most.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 31st at 2:00 PM at the Chapel at the Harvey Cedars Bible Conference. We invite all who knew and respected Ernie to join us in honoring his life and legacy.

There will be a fresh albacore tuna sale at the Manahawkin Elks Club on Hillard Blvd TOMORROW Tuesday October 22nd from 11 am to 3 pm

All fish are whole albacore tuna from our boats and will be $1.50 a lb. This is a one time sale!
Whole fish sales only there will be no cutting of the fish

LEGENDS!
Capt Chuck and the boys aboard F/V Alexandria Dawn came in with the first pelagic longline trip of the year. We packed them yesterday and saw a really nice run of beautiful bluefin tuna. The longline effort will be continuing to start up over the coming weeks. These guys are ready to get back at it.

On Sunday we packed a really sharp golden tilefish trip from F/V Sea Farmer. The cull was excellent and we are pumped to have these guys producing tile for us all summer, as usual. It was a lot of fun chatting with many curious folks this weekend and educating them about the fishery. We also let them know where to buy tile locally and find it on the menu. We loved seeing people eager to try new fish and supporting local fisheries.

We’re planning to see a scallop trip or two land before the end of the week. Net boats have been working as well and they’re continuing the effort for smooth dogs & skate/ monk.

📌For those inquiring about Friday Morning dock tours - they will start on July 5th and run every Friday up until Labor Day Weekend.
