It has for some time been the hope of the Barnegat Historical Society to have some type of digital display apparatus installed at the Heritage Village & Museum. Our President, Gary Brower became aware that the Barnegat Light Historical Society was currently using such equipment at their own Museum. Gary subsequently contacted the BL Historical Society’s Curator, Reilly Platten Sharp. Reilly graciously agreed to meet with Gary and BHS’s Historian Curt Watts on Monday, June 22, 2026, at their Museum on LBI. Reilly took the time to show them the equipment that they were using, and it appears that we may be able to use a similar system at our Heritage Museum. We will keep you posted as this project progresses.
While there, we had the opportunity to look at the various artifacts on display at the Museum, it was quite impressive. Also impressive, was the awesome garden maintained by the Garden Club of LBI; a great place to sit awhile and meditate, on history of course.

On Saturday, June 20, 2026 a work party was recruited to address a myriad of maintenance needs at the Barnegat Historical Society’s Heritage Village & Museum. Participants included Gary Brower, Mike Peranteau, Harold Roberts and Gary Tucker. Although the team was small in number, their accomplishments were significant. We certainly owe these folks a heartfelt thankyou for their selfless contribution to the maintenance and preservation of the Society’s grounds and historic buildings.
