BCFD was going to assist with a control burn tonight. Before we could arrive we got a call from Mahaska center to assist in a mutual aid call with New Sharon fire department on a grass fire.

The fire and rescue association received a grant from Aureon. They presented it a few weeks ago. Lewis Playle accepted the Grant on behalf of the association. Lou has been on our department for over 50 years. Thank you Danielle for coming down to present the check.

Thank you to all the fire fighters/EMS from surrounding communities who come to say a final goodbye and honor Marvin Freeborn yesterday. BCFD lost a great firefighter brother and friend. He will be missed in many ways for our community.
