The Lamar County High School Literary Team had an outstanding showing at the GHSA Region Literary Competition today, earning the title of Region Runner‑Up and celebrating multiple 1st‑place finishes. These top performers will advance to the GHSA State Literary Championships on March 21.

Advancing to State (1st Place Winners):

• Girls Trio – Charlise Komaee, Melyanne Bumgarner, Cailyn Pritchett
• Boys Quartet – Jackson Rogers, Ryan Head, Ramey Callahan, Kolton Lee
• Humorous Interpretation – Lily Yarbray
• Personal Essay – William Woodall

We are incredibly proud of all our competitors for representing Lamar County with excellence, dedication, and heart. Congratulations to our State qualifiers—let’s bring home the gold on March 21!

The Lamar County High School Chorus proudly participated in the Georgia Choral Clinic, where four clinicians evaluated our performance based on the Georgia State Standards. Our students presented two prepared pieces and had the privilege of working with Dr. Flory, Director of Choral Activities at Georgia College & State University. We are thrilled to be returning home with a Superior rating. This was great preparation for our Large Group Performance Evaluation next month. Congratulations to our singers for their hard work and excellence. It’s a great day to be a Trojan!♥️🎶
