Tonight is our first DO IT OURSELVES 💪zine-ish workshop! Want to homegrown a fun way to share art and ideas? Join the Barnet Library and Hard-Pressed Community Press from 6-8:30 or 9 tonight (Friday, May 29 and again June 26-come to one of both ). This workshop is intended for adults but tweens and up absolutely welcome🩷 This is part of our One Foot Forward community resilience programming funded by the VT Humanities💫
Also, we have fun at after school! We’ve restocked the dumdum rewards bouquet, played hopscotch and croquet and lots of tag lately.

Get them while they’re HOT! New books we’re all dying to read!
FRIDAY MAY, 29 and June 26, 6pm Hard-Pressed community printshop joins us here. We will explore together the different ways to tell our stories and ignite our imagination through the power of DO-IT-OURSELVES publishing. Everyone welcome to either or both workshops. In a time when AI and digital alteration is the norm, come learn to tell your truth through paper and glue book art. This class is geared towards adults but we absolutely welcome motivated tweens and up! ⭐️Please register at [email protected] or message us through Instagram, Facebook or our website.

The library will be closed Sunday the 24th in observance of Memorial Day. Har-Pressed Community Press is coming Friday at 6 to ignite our imaginations in a DO IT OURSELVES publishing workshop. This event is free thanks to the VT Humanities Project Grant.

Saturday-the library will be open, but Dylan will be making butter at the big Ryegate 250th celebration put on by the Ryegate Historical Society (my amazing mom, Dover, is the President and has worked so hard to make this a special day for Ryegate). There will be lots of Barnet crafters and volunteers there. Come join us ! ⭐️
Also, May 29 and June 26 we’re have a DO IT OURSELVES workshop with Hard-Pressed Community Printshop. Learn the importance of sharing community stories with local press. Make your own piece to share. Materials included. Bring a story to share through art. 6pm. Please register. This program is free thanks to the VT Humanities Project Grant.

We have new books coming in every day-something for everyone . Work outside, enjoy the sunshine, read a good book☕️. Also, a shout out to our friends at Tunnel Books and Hard-Pressed Community Printshop -they truly are amazing resources for our communities. Their upcoming event is Writing as Divination. SPRING EPHEMERALS WALK SUNDAY AT 10🌼we are meeting at the Barnet School parking lot to walk the school trails. The walk and talk will be led by Emma Ricci of Cloud Brook Farm. No need to register⭐️ Many thanks to our Green Up Volunteers today! We had over 40 folks come to the library today to get bags, eat snacks and share the apparent beverage of choice on their stretch of green up road : Twisted Tea, Bud Light and Coors seem to be Barnet’s litter majority . Thanks for all your hard work, Barnet💚

GREEN UP IS SATURDAY! Here are some blast from the past photos to inspire you all-2003! Can you find someone you know? ⭐️We are having coffee, tea, Cocoa and snacks from 10-12 at the library! We have bags on the porch. We will have a rinsing station outside for recycling. See you soon! 💚
