Let us start off by saying thank you to all of our members and supporters who made our annual Father’s Day Chicken BBQ a huge success. We served 505 dinners in 1 hour and 15 minutes. We would like to thank the following businesses for their support and donations.

DeSantis Meat Market and Deli: Thank you Ed and family for your large donation, The DeSantis family donated all of the products to make our macaroni salad, cole slaw, salt potatoes and dinner rolls………

Left Over Express: For delivering a dumpster to dispose of all of the waste products.

Revere Copper and Brass: Thank you to Revere Copper and Brass of Rome for the donation of two pallets of charcoal.

Floyd Fire Dept: Thank you to the members of the Floyd Fire Department and Ladies Aux. for the use of their kitchen and walk-in cooler for to do all of our prep work.

Town of Trenton: Thank you to the Town of Trenton for allowing us to use the Town Hall to serve our dinners again this year!

The Family of Mitch Thomas: Thank you to the Thomas Family for continuing the memory of their father Mitch and his love of fishing. For over 30 years Mitch donated a fishing pole to raffle off and raised thousands of dollars for our cause. This years winners were:

Join us this Sunday at noon at the Town of Trenton Town Hall for our Annual Father's Day Chicken BBQ. Our $15.00 dinner package includes our celebrated macaroni salad, coleslaw, salt potatoes, and a dinner roll. Kindly note that all dinners are available for takeout only.

Last evening's weekly training was dedicated to the development of the next generation of pump operators. Since our area of operation is largely dependent on rural water sources, with hydrants only available in villages and commercial areas, our operators need comprehensive knowledge on drafting from portable water sources and other static sources including creeks, ponds, lakes, and dry hydrants. We thank all members who took part in the training.

Congratulations to Stittville FD Chief William Owen III on being sworn in as the President of the New York State Association of Fire Chiefs at their annual conference held in Syracuse, we are proud of the local chiefs who have worked their way up through the ranks of the statewide fire service organizations including our own Chief Kevin Kalk who serves on the Chiefs association Board of Directors. Congratulations Bill, your father would be proud!

Congratulations to Chief William K. Owen III, Stittville Fire Department (Oneida County), who was installed today as president of the New York State Association of Fire Chiefs during the 120th Annual Conference & Expo in Syracuse. Bill follows in the footsteps of his father, the late William K. Owen Jr., who led NYSAFC as president from 2008-2009.
