Barnsdall Public Library

Barnsdall Public Library The Library They put together a library system with donated books and the Barnsdall Public Library was founded.

The exact date of the organizing of the Barnsdall Library has been lost with the passing of time, however it is believed that in the early 1930's the Business and Professional Women's Club members took note of the lack of a library in Barnsdall. In 1962 the library was named the Ethel Briggs Memorial Library in honor of a beloved teacher who served the children of Barnsdall for years.

With the expiration of ESSER funding, many school districts are facing challenges in maintaining tutoring programs. We recognize the importance of academic support in student success, and we want to ensure that all students in our community continue to have access to high-quality, state-standards-aligned tutoring—at no cost to families.

To support students, we proudly offer free, on-demand tutoring through Brainfuse HelpNow, an online platform that provides live, one-on-one tutoring in math, science, reading, writing, and more. HelpNow tutoring sessions are aligned with our state’s academic standards, ensuring that students receive targeted support that reinforces their classroom learning. Additionally, the service includes college and career readiness resources to help students prepare for their futures.

How to Access Free Tutoring

Students can access HelpNow tutoring for free with a library card. The service is available from home, school, or anywhere with an internet connection, making it a convenient and flexible option for families.

Through HelpNow, students can receive a wide variety of academic support, including:

· Live Tutoring: One-on-one help from professional tutors in core subjects, available in English and Spanish.
· Writing Lab: Expert feedback on essays, reports, and college application materials.
· Skills-Building Resources: Practice tests, lessons, and study tools tailored to individual learning needs.
· College & Career Readiness: PSAT/SAT, ACT, and AP test prep, as well as career assessments and FAFSA help.

We encourage students, parents, and educators to explore this valuable resource. To learn more and get started, visit your public library's website or go to Oklahoma.gov/libraries/brainfuse for more information.

Thank you to all that sent books off our wishlist. We appreciate your support.

I have had some people stop by the library and ask about GED classes. I have found a resource. Shelly with Family & Children's Services has more information on when she will be available in Barnsdall for test prep and any other questions you may have. Give her a call at 405-500-0205.
