Tomorrow, August 31st, we come together at the Axis I Center for a special Overdose Awareness event to remember those we have lost, support those who are struggling, and remind our community that prevention, education, and support can save lives.

🌳 Join us as we plant trees in honor and memory of loved ones lost to overdose.

For 11 years, Cheryl has been dedicated to making a difference in the lives of youth and families as a Pregnancy Prevention Specialist. Her work extends beyond prevention education—she also supports the school district with truancy efforts and leads a girls’ group, creating a safe space where young women can learn, grow, build confidence, and be encouraged to make positive choices.

Cheryl’s commitment to prevention, education, mentorship, and supporting young people is truly something worth celebrating. Her dedication has made a lasting impact on countless lives throughout our community.

💙 Recognize the Signs. Start the Conversation. Save a Life.

Depression, alcohol misuse, drug use, and overdose can affect anyone. Sometimes the signs are easy to miss—but knowing what to look for can make a difference.

🧠 Learn the signs of depression.
🍺 Recognize warning signs of alcohol misuse.
💊 Know the possible signs of drug use.
🚨 Learn how to recognize an overdose and respond quickly.
🤝 Most importantly, support without judgment.

You don’t have to be a professional to make a difference. Sometimes, simply asking “Are you okay?” and truly listening can be the first step toward getting someone the help they need.

Check in. Listen. Encourage help. Stay connected. 💙

If an opioid overdose is suspected, call 911, administer naloxone/Narcan if available, and stay with the person.

Together, we can build a healthier, stronger community.
