Everyone please remember that the Barnwell Police Department will be holding a School Book Bag giveaway at Fuller Park Saturday July 25th from 9am until 1pm. We will have food prepared by Chief Tony Dicks, music by Gary Brantley and the Police and Fire Departments will be there for the kids. We have received different donations and stuff for the giveaway. We will post all of our sponsors with pictures of the event. Please come join us for the event. We hope to make this an annual event for everyone and we are planning other activities for later days. Please come out and join us and meet your Police Officers and Firefighters and support this event.

Last Night, Barnwell City was dispatched to the Winton Inn Hotel for a report of a structure fire! Barnwell fire personnel responded and arrived on scene with nothing showing from the exterior of the building, went in for investigation mode. After investigating, fire personnel found one of the rooms was on fire and the fire had been partially extinguished. Fire personnel used several water cans to fully extinguish the fire. Fire was then determined out and fire units cleared scene and back to quarters. Special thanks to Barnwell Rural Fire Department (Station 11) and Snelling’s Fire Department (Station 6) for responding and helping!

Last week, we had the privilege of having Mr. Jerry Morrison make a trip from Charleston, SC to capture some amazing photos of our station and fleet! I would like to thank everyone that was able to participate in this event, ( Autism Awareness Walk) and for last nights assistance stuffing bags and today for the walk at the veterans park!!

Early this morning, 04/07/2026, Barnwell City FD was dispatched for mutual aid to Bamberg County for a working Commercial Fire, requesting Truck 1 for aerial support! Truck 1 and a few members responded to Bamberg Co. and help assist with extinguishment! Barnwell City FD is proud to serve not only our City, but for the surrounding Departments as well!
