Press Release - Reckless Endangerment

On July 10, 2026 at approximately 2355 hours Barre City Officers, with assistance from Barre Town Police, Berlin Police and Vermont State Police responded to complaints of possible gunfire within a residence along the unit block of French Street. It was reported that an upstairs tenant was either shooting off fireworks or fired a gun approximately five times.

Officers were unable to make contact with the tenant as he refused to answer the door. With utilization of a drone, a firearm was observed lying on the bed next to the individual. After a short period, officers were successful in getting him to come to the door where he was taken into custody without incident and the firearm seized, a .45 caliber handgun.

He was lodged at the Northeast Correctional Facility in lieu of $500 cash bail and is scheduled to appear in Washington Superior Court on July 13, 2026 at 1230 to answer the charge of Reckless Endangerment.

Officers later executed a search warrant at the residence to seize evidence supporting the criminal charge.
