The 4th of July Parade is fast approaching! During the festivities, help out our neighbors in need by donating to a food drive sponsored by our friend's at Heinen's. All items will be collected at the beginning of the parade and donated to local food pantries.

The 4th of July Parade Committee is pleased to announce the Grand Marshal of this year's parade: Mr. David F. Nelson! Mr. Nelson served most recently as Supervisor of Cuba Township and also served in the past as a Barrington Village Trustee and as Barrington Village President. In addition, Mr. Nelson has many years of community and civic service. Plan on coming out this July 4th at 10:00 a.m. to watch the parade and celebrate our nation's birthday!! April showers bring...beginning plans for this summer's 4th of July Parade!! The Barrington 4th of July Parade Committee is pleased to announce that the theme for the 2017 parade will be “Celebrating America’s Superheroes.” From traditional superheroes such as Superman and Batman to our presidents and politicians to everyday superheroes like moms and dads, we’re celebrating them all with creative floats and parade entries this July 4! The parade will take place on Tuesday, July 4th, starting at 10 a.m. Look for information soon on our website: barringtonparade.com regarding sponsorship and registration.

Today is the day! The parade kicks off at 10 am, beginning at Barrington High School, and continuing down Main Street. Hope to see you there!

The 4th of July Parade in Barrington will feature a Food Drive to benefit two local food pantries. We encourage all those attending the parade to help us stock the food pantries to help our neighbors in need! Below is a list with ideas of items you can donate.

• Cold and hot cereals
• Coffee & juices
• Paper products
• Laundry detergent
• Cleaning supplies
• Peanut butter
• Canned fruit
• Jelly
• Juice
• Snacks
• Pet food
• Non-perishable prepared dinners
• Toiletries: toothpaste, shampoo, etc.
• Canned chicken and tuna
• $20 gift cards to local grocers/discount stores
• Gas gift cards

Parade attendees can bring non-perishable food and cleaning items to the parade where they will be collected by Heinen's at the start. More info at www.BarringtonParade.com.

We are pleased to announce this year's theme: "The Best of Barrington - a Community Celebration" and hope that you'll join us in downtown Barrington on July 4th starting at 10 a.m. to celebrate our nation's Independence Day!
