At last night’s Board of Trustees meeting, the Village of Barrington proudly welcomed our new Firefighter/Paramedic, Austin Krummick, with a swearing-in ceremony surrounded by his family, colleagues and fellow first responders.

We are excited to have Austin join the Barrington Fire Department and begin serving our community. His commitment to helping others reflects the values that make Barrington such a special place.

Congratulations, Austin, and welcome to the Village! We wish you a safe and successful career in service to Barrington.

Mason and Miles got to roll up to school this morning on a Barrington Fire Department fire truck and these smiles say it all!

Today, we recognize and honor the dedication, courage and sacrifice of firefighters, both here at the Barrington Fire Department and around the world.

Firefighting is more than a profession; it is a commitment to protecting life and property, often requiring countless hours of service, whether volunteered or through a lifelong career. In every case, it carries the inherent risk of the ultimate sacrifice.

On International Firefighters’ Day, we pause to thank the men and women who continue to serve, and we remember those who have given their lives in the line of duty. Your commitment to our community does not go unnoticed.
