In honor of National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, the Barrington Fire Department recognizes the dedicated professionals at Northwest Central Dispatch System (NWCDS).
This week, we had the opportunity to bring dinner to the midnight dispatchers as a small thank you for the critical work they do each and every day.
Northwest Central Dispatch serves as the first point of contact in an emergency — answering 911 calls, gathering vital information, and coordinating the response of fire and police personnel across multiple communities. Their ability to remain calm under pressure and relay accurate, timely information is essential to the safety and effectiveness of every response.
For the Barrington Fire Department, NWCDS is a constant partner in our operations. From dispatching calls to supporting incident coordination, they play a direct role in helping us serve our community safely and efficiently.
While their work often happens behind the scenes, its impact is felt on every call.
Thank you, NWCDS, for your professionalism, dedication and service.
