Reminder: the burning of garbage is not allowed in the city. We have had some complaints filed by residents and fines will be issued to those burning trash.

As spring is around the corner, the city will be working to clean up the appearance of the community so it is welcoming to visitors and a place residents can be proud of. The Spring Clean Up is scheduled for April 11-19 at the City Wastewater Treatment Plant.

We ask that only city residents drop off items at the site. Additionally, we would like to remind everyone that the use of the city recycling box is only for use of city residents.

We would also like to remind residents of the following ordinances:

As grass is starting to grow, please remember that the city ordinance requires lawns to be kept under 8”.

City ordinance prohibits the accumulation of junk, trash, and scrap parts in open view to the public.

City ordinance also requires that any vehicle must be licensed, operable, and insured or it must be stored in a shed with four sides and a roof. Putting a tarp over it will not satisfy the matter.
Automotive repair businesses are exempt from this ordinance, but we do ask that they try to keep their place of business as neat and tidy as possible. City staff will be out enforcing this ordinance over the following months, so please make arrangements to get vehicles moved, licensed, operable and insured.
