The department operates out of two stations and has specialized firefighting vehicles and transport ambulances.

During the early morning hours on 12/2/23 Medic Engine 401A was dispatched to assist Bernardino County Fire on a Tractor Trailer fire on westbound I-40 at MM 38. ME401A arrived on scene to find a well involved semi truck fire with extension into the trailer. Irwin Fire was requested to assist with a Water Tender. After 2.5 hours the fire was extinguished.
