🍼💛 BARSTOW & SURROUNDING COMMUNITIES — BABY STATION NEEDS YOUR HELP! 💛🍼

Desert Sanctuary Inc.’s Baby Station is currently in need of baby gear donations to help us continue supporting local families and their little ones.

Right now, we are especially looking for:

💚 Diaper Bags
💚 Walkers
💚 Bouncers
💚 Tummy-Time Mats
💚 Pack ’n Plays
💚 Bassinets
💚 Changing Tables

Gently used items are absolutely appreciated! If you have baby gear your little one has outgrown and it is still in good, clean, usable condition, please consider donating it to Baby Station instead of letting it sit unused. Your donation could be exactly what another family needs. 💕

If you had to flee tonight, would you know where to go—and which shelter is actually safest? 🧩

Domestic violence shelters are built around confidentiality, secure locations, and trauma-informed support because an abuser may still be actively looking for someone. Most homeless shelters aren’t designed for that specific risk, even though they provide critical help.

The heartbreaking reality: there are far fewer domestic violence shelter beds than survivors need, so many people are forced to weigh tough alternatives. When specialized shelter isn’t available, advocates focus on immediate safety—helping survivors compare options and build a safety plan for the next hours and days.

What do you wish more people understood about the difference between “needing a bed” and “needing protection”? Share your thoughts—or pass this along to someone who should know. 💜🛡️
