The Washington County Assessor’s Office currently has two openings on its appraisal staff. The positions that are to be filled are that of a Real Estate Appraiser and a Personal Property Specialist.
Both positions involve duties relative to the maintenance of the county’s assessment rolls for the purpose of taxation. Each position will perform functions such as gathering assessment data, reviewing data for accuracy, entering data into county’s CAMA (Computer-Assisted Mass Appraisal) database, and processing corrections as needed. Prior experience in the field of appraisal is NOT a requirement. County will provide hands-on training both in the office and/or in the field, accompanied by training courses in the State of Oklahoma’s Assessor Training and Accreditation Program (ATAP) that are administered by OSU’s Center for Local Government Technology (CLGT).
Requirements for each position include: ability to work in an office environment, basic computer skills, ability to communicate with taxpayers adeptly in person, over the phone, and via e-mail. Additionally, the Real Estate Appraiser position requires a valid Oklahoma driver’s license. The job will consist of a 40-hour workweek, Monday through Friday, with 12-14 paid holidays each year. Starting salary will be dependent on prior education and work experience.
