Subject: Vehicle Pursuit

Bartlesville Police Arrest Driver Following Early-Morning Pursuit
The Bartlesville Police Department arrested a driver early Tuesday morning following a vehicle pursuit that began in Bartlesville and continued into Washington County.
At approximately 4:53 a.m. on September 1, 2026, Bartlesville police officers observed a red Chevrolet Corvette traveling westbound near Adams Boulevard and Johnstone Avenue at an estimated speed of approximately 90 mph.
An officer caught up with the vehicle near Adams Boulevard and Adeline Avenue and attempted to initiate a traffic stop. When the officer activated the patrol vehicle's emergency lights and siren, the driver failed to stop and accelerated away at a high rate of speed.
Officers pursued the vehicle as it traveled through Bartlesville and continued south on Silver Lake Road into Washington County. During the pursuit, officers successfully deployed tire-deflation devices; however, the driver continued to flee.
The pursuit continued onto county roads south of Bartlesville. Due to the driver's continued attempts to evade officers, a trained Bartlesville police officer utilized a Tactical Vehicle Intervention (TVI) in an effort to bring the pursuit to a safe conclusion. The officer performed two TVI maneuvers, which ultimately resulted in the fleeing vehicle becoming disabled and the pursuit ending in the area of County Road 3950 and County Road 2800.
Officers then conducted a high-risk vehicle stop. The driver initially failed to comply with officers' commands but was subsequently removed from the vehicle and taken into custody without further incident.
The driver was identified as 44-year-old Aaron Robison. Emergency medical personnel responded to the scene and medically evaluated and cleared Robison. Robison was arrested on complaints of felony eluding a peace officer, running a roadblock, and speeding. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
The Bartlesville Police Department continues to review the circumstances surrounding the pursuit in accordance with department policy.

Bartlesville Police Department-North Fenway Avenue Death Investigation

On August 25, 2026, at approximately 7:56 a.m., Bartlesville Fire Department and Bartlesville Ambulance personnel were dispatched to the 300 block of North Fenway Avenue following a report of a two-year-old child who was not breathing.

Bartlesville police officers were requested to respond to the scene a short time later. Upon their arrival, the child was deceased.

Detectives with the Bartlesville Police Department responded to the scene and are conducting a death
investigation. The Oklahoma Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has been contacted and is assisting with the investigation.

No additional information regarding the circumstances surrounding the child's death is available for release at
this time. Additional information will be provided when appropriate and as the investigation allows.

UPDATE: West 2nd Street Death Investigation
The Bartlesville Police Department is providing an update regarding the ongoing death investigation stemming from the August 20, 2026, incident in the 1700 block of West 2nd Street.
The deceased male has been identified as James Anthony Oldham, 33. His identity was previously withheld pending notification of next of kin.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. Detectives with the Bartlesville Police Department Criminal Investigations Division continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death, and official autopsy findings are still pending.
There are no additional updates to release at this time. Preliminary information continues to indicate this was an isolated incident, and there is no ongoing threat to the public.

Bartlesville Police Department Investigates Assault on 2nd Street

The Bartlesville Police Department is investigating an assault that occurred in the 1700 block of West 2nd Street.

At approximately 3:00 p.m. on August 20, 2026, Bartlesville police officers responded to the area following a report of an unconscious male. The male was transported by ambulance to a local hospital and was later pronounced deceased.

Detectives with the Bartlesville Police Department Criminal Investigations Division are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident. No additional information is being released at this time.

The identity of the deceased man is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Preliminary information indicates this was an isolated incident, and there is no ongoing threat to the public.

The investigation remains active. Anyone with information related to this incident is encouraged to contact the Bartlesville Police Department at (918)338-4001.

First Day of School Traffic and Safety Reminder

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Tomorrow marks the first day of school for many students in our community, and the Bartlesville Police
Department would like to remind motorists, parents, students, and school staff to plan ahead and make safety a priority.

With students returning to the classroom, residents should expect heavier traffic and increased congestion, particularly during morning drop-off and afternoon dismissal times. Motorists are encouraged to leave early, allow additional travel time, remain patient, and pay close attention while traveling near schools.

The Bartlesville Police Department will have an increased police presence in and around school zones to help ensure a safe start to the school year. Officers will be monitoring traffic, assisting with congestion when necessary, and watching for unsafe driving behaviors. Drivers are reminded to:

• Slow down and obey all posted school-zone speed limits.

• Stay alert for children walking or riding bicycles to and from school.

• Obey crossing guards and school traffic-control personnel.

• Avoid distracted driving and keep your attention on the roadway.

• Never pass a school bus when its red lights are flashing and stop arm is extended.

• Allow extra time and remain patient during school drop-off and pickup.

• Watch carefully around crosswalks, intersections, buses, and school parking lots.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to speak with their children about safely crossing streets, using designated crosswalks and sidewalks, following the directions of crossing guards and school staff, and remaining aware of traffic around them.

We also ask parents participating in drop-off and pickup to follow each school's designated traffic plan.
Stopping or parking in unauthorized areas can create additional congestion and, more importantly, obstruct
visibility for students and other motorists.

The first few days of school often bring increased traffic as families adjust to new schedules and routines. A little extra patience and attention can make a significant difference.

The Bartlesville Police Department wishes all of our students, teachers, school staff, and families a safe and successful school year. Please help us make tomorrow's first day a safe one for everyone.

Bartlesville Police Department’s K9 Jax to get donation of body armor

Bartlesville Police Department, OK - K9 Jax will receive a bullet and stab protective vest thanks to a charitable donation from non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. K9 Jax’s vest was sponsored by the Robert P. Aikens of the Galleta Fund and will be embroidered with the sentiment “This gift of protection provided by the Galleta Fund”. Delivery is expected within ten weeks.

Vested Interest in K9s, Inc., established in 2009, is a 501(c)(3) charity whose mission is to provide bullet and stab protective vests and other assistance to dogs of law enforcement and related agencies throughout the United States. This potentially lifesaving body armor for four-legged K9 officers is U.S. made, custom fitted, and National Institute of Justice (NIJ) certified. Since its inception, Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. has provided over 6,603 vests valued at $6.9 million to K9s in all 50 states, made possible by both private and corporate donations.

The program is open to U.S. dogs at least 20 months old, actively employed, and certified with law enforcement or related agencies. K9s with expired vests are also eligible to participate. There are an estimated 30,000 law enforcement K9s throughout the United States.

Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. accepts tax-deductible contributions in any amount, while a single donation of $1,050 will sponsor one vest. Each vest has a value of $1800.00, weighs an average of 4-5 lbs., and comes with a five-year warranty. For more information, or to learn about volunteer opportunities, please call (508) 824-6978.
