Recently, Bartlett High School was honored to serve as the host for the inaugural Patrick Wallace memorial scholarship presentation. During his time at BHS, Patrick was an energetic, outgoing, and talented member of the class of 2018. His involvement and leadership helped create the B52 Pep Crew, organizing it into the spirited group it is today, and he was a fixture at BHS athletic events. Sadly, Patrick passed away from cancer in April 2025 and in his memory, his family wished to recognize a student who had similarly given so much to BHS.
This year's recipient is Jaiden Wallace, who will continue her education at UT-Knoxville to major in nursing. During her time at BHS, Jaiden served as president of the B52 Pep Crew and captain of the basketball cheerleading squad. Her enthusiasm extended beyond BHS as a member of the Memphis Grizzlies "Blue Bunch", performing at Grizzlies home games and representing the organization in the community.
Not only do they share last names, but Patrick's family knew Jaiden was the right choice when they heard how instrumental she had been in making B52 Pep Crew a group for all students, encouraging involvement, leadership, pride, and support for her fellow students.
We are so thankful to the Wallace family for honoring Patrick and are proud of the impact Jaiden contributed to BHS!

Our next Alumni Spotlight is XinYuan Hu from the Class of 2022! XinYuan matriculated to the University of Virginia, where he double majored in Commerce and Statistics and now works for Brown Advisory as a Research Institute Analyst. While at UVA, XinYuan served as President of the Chinese Students and Scholars Society and traveled throughout Asia, Latin America, and Europe, gaining experience in a variety of cultures and business environments.
Throughout his time at BHS, XinYuan was involved in Beta Club, Key Club, R.O.S.E.S., Mu Alpha Theta, National Honor Society, BHS Honors Academy, the tennis and swim teams, and the LeHu Project of Appreciation. He credits Ms. Carfield, as well as former BHS teachers Mr. Phillips and Mrs. Diaz-Madero to making the most impact on him as a student and encourages all students to "Think outside of the box and widen your thought horizons, the world is bigger than you think it is: Keep Challenging Yourself."

The Class of 2027 may now apply for the Tennessee Promise program! Tennessee Promise helps pay for tuition at any Tennessee community college or Tennessee College of Applied Technology. We HIGHLY recommend every senior apply for this award, even as a back-up plan. Students must create a TSAC account, then log in to the account and apply for the Tennessee Promise application. The Class of 2027 met with Holland Studio today (Monday, May 11th) regarding senior portraits. Holland is ready to accept appointments now for bookings to begin June 1st. Appointments booked during the month of June will receive $10 off the sitting fee. The deadline for portraits to be taken for inclusion in the yearbook is Monday, November 2nd, but every effort should be made to book early! Free ACT Math Webinar for Students

Jane Ross is offering free online ACT prep for all students.

The best math test takers use lots of tools to solve the various problems on the ACT. Learn seven of the most effective tools, how to use them, and when to use them. Sample problems that demonstrate the use of these powerful strategies will help students see the immediate application of this lesson.

The free math webinar kicks off the series of JRT Power Sessions, which will include prep for the English, reading, and science sections. Registered students will be given the opportunity to sign up for the entire series.

This training is perfect for summer test takers and students just finishing their sophomore or junior year.
