Last evening at the Hanover Township Board meeting Supervisor Brian P. McGuire signed a proclamation recognizing National Hispanic Heritage month in Hanover Township. Hanover Township Youth and Family Services proudly honors the cultures, histories and contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans who make up 45% of the Township's population and contribute to our vibrant community.

Teen Hangout: Board Games & Dungeons & Dragons!

Looking for something fun to do after school? Join us this week for Teen Hangout at the Izaak Walton Youth Center!

This week, we’re bringing out the board games and Dungeons & Dragons for an afternoon of games, creativity, and hanging out with friends. 🎲✨

Join us in welcoming Annemarie Ruzevich, our new Clinical Intern with Hanover Township Youth and Family Services!

Annemarie recently graduated from Aurora University where she earned a Bachelor of Social Work and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. During this time, she also served as the Social Work Intern for the Boys and Girls Club of North Central Illinois where she supported youth development through the implementation of Social Emotional Learning activities and gained hands-on experience working with children and adolescents.

She is currently pursuing a Master of Social Work through Aurora University and is excited to continue developing my clinical skills through her internship with the Department of Youth and Family Services. Outside of work and school, she enjoys attending concerts, spending time with my friends, and going bowling!

TEEN HANGOUT STARTS THIS WEEK!

We’re kicking off September with our “New School Year Reset” theme!
We have a ton of fun activities, games, and opportunities planned throughout the month to help teens reset, reconnect, and start the school year strong!

Wednesdays: Middle School
Thursdays: High School

Location: Izaak Walton Youth Center, 899 Jay St. Elgin, IL
Transportation: School pickup is provided right after school, with drop-off back at school around 6:15–6:30 PM.

Teens do not have to attend every week—come for the whole month or just one day!
