Lifelong Access provides person-centered services and supports to individuals with disabilities, mental health needs, or both, across the lifespan.

A Passion for Creativity 🎨

Raphael has developed a true passion for art and can often be found working on his latest masterpiece during DT. Through painting, drawing, and exploring different artistic techniques, he enjoys expressing himself through color and creativity.

One of his recent accomplishments is a beautiful painted landscape on canvas, showcasing both his talent and dedication to his craft. We love seeing individuals pursue their passions, build new skills, and gain confidence through creative expression.

𝗜𝗻 𝗟𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗮 𝗗𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our dear friend, Martha.

Martha embraced life with a spirit that was uniquely her own. She found joy in the simple pleasures—a beloved cat curled nearby, good music filling the room, laughter shared with friends, and the occasional tasty margarita enjoyed among those she loved. Her warmth, humor, and appreciation for life's special moments made her a cherished friend to many.

Over the years, Martha became an important part of the Lifelong Access family. She built meaningful friendships with fellow housemates, the team and visitors, sharing her love of music, laughter, and life's simple pleasures. Her vibrant spirit and the memories she created will be remembered by all who knew her.

As we mourn her loss, we also celebrate a life filled with friendship, joy, and connection. Martha will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Life is better when shared with friends! 💙

Community outings are about so much more than getting out and about. They're opportunities to build relationships, enjoy favorite activities, and create meaningful experiences together.

Recently, friends enjoyed donuts (and plenty of coffee!) at Denny's Doughnuts, shared a fun date night filled with pizza and laughter at Monical's Pizza, and spent an afternoon cheering on ISU Baseball at Duffy Bass Field, where the popcorn was a definite highlight.

Whether it's sharing a meal, enjoying a favorite pastime, or simply spending time together, these moments help foster connection, belonging, and community involvement. We're grateful for the opportunities to support experiences that bring people together!

We were honored to welcome NBA Hall of Famer, player, coach, and broadcaster Doug Collins to the future home of the Lifelong Access Care Collective in Bloomington, Illinois.

This transformational 65,000 sq. ft. redevelopment is designed to better serve individuals with disabilities across McLean County and will house a wide range of Lifelong Access services—all under one roof. Planning for a 2027 opening.

Doug’s visit brought incredible energy and visibility to what this space will represent—not just a building, but a place of opportunity, inclusion, and dignity.

𝗔 𝗣𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲-𝗗𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲
The newly designed building will house a wide range of services that support individuals across all stages of life. These include:
• Alternative youth education
• Applied behavioral health services
• Community day services
• Life skills education
• Pediatric services
• Supported employment programming
…and more.

“This building will not just serve our mission, it will reflect it,” said Karl Kopp, CEO at Lifelong Access. “We are creating a space where care, dignity, and opportunity are built into the design, alongside rich community history.”

We’re building more than walls—we’re building a stronger, more inclusive community. Grateful to have champions like Doug Collins helping move this vision forward.

For Cameron, communication takes many forms. Using his iPad as assistive technology, he shares his thoughts, interests, and experiences in ways that work best for him. Whether he's talking about his favorite videos, sharing memories, or inviting others to join him in activities he enjoys, his device helps him connect with the people around him.

One recent interaction led to a walk through the building and a ride on the elevator. As the elevator traveled from the first floor to the second floor, Cameron recorded a video on his iPad and proudly shared it with others afterward. It was a simple moment, but one that brought him joy and provided an opportunity to connect with those around him.

At Lifelong Access, we recognize the important role assistive technology plays in helping individuals express themselves, build independence, and engage with the world around them. 💙
