Due to personnel issues The Town of Bartow will not be picking up trash on Tuesday the 18 th. We will resume trash service on Friday. Sorry for the inconvenience. Please share.

Attention Town of Bartow. As of now the State and Federal government have not extended debris pickup. Jefferson County will continue pick up through the Saturday the 8th of February. If there are any updates, we will let you know.

Update:

Governor Kemp has declared a State of Emergency for the entire state until midnight 1/28/2025.
Winter Storm Warning Effective 1/22/2025 at 10:00 am for our area.
Jefferson County Public Schools- ½ day tomorrow, Closed Wednesday and reevaluate on Wednesday for Thursday.
Thomas Jefferson Academy- ½ day tomorrow, Closed Wednesday and reevaluate on Wednesday for Thursday.COLD WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM THIS EVENING TO 9 AM EST TUESDAY...Wind Chills expected as low as 15.


We continue to monitor the forecast and participate in briefings by the National Weather Service and Georgia Emergency Management Agency/Homeland Security.

As always, we will provide updates as they become available about the weather and any closures that may be announced that we are made aware of.

Winter Storm Warning issued January 21 at 3:29AM EST until January 22 at 7:00AM EST by NWS Peachtree City GA

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations up to 4
inches.

* WHERE...Much of middle Georgia.

* WHEN...From 10 AM this morning to 7 AM EST Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Plan on dangerous road conditions. The hazardous
conditions will impact the Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning
commutes.

Impacts on roads are expected even before snow
accumulations reach two inches and shortly after precipitation
begins.

If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency. The latest road conditions for
the state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.
