The City of Basehor is hiring for a Police Officer. Basehor is a growing city in the southeast corner of Leavenworth County and is uniquely positioned with great accessibility to the Greater Kansas City Metro Area. Basehor is the 2nd fastest growing city in Kansas with a population of 5,000 or more. The population in Basehor is approximately 8,527 residents and has increased in population by approximately 49% in the last 10 years. Basehor is also the 2nd safest city in Kansas. The Basehor Police Department has 17 sworn officers, including the Police Chief.

As summer comes to an end and Labor Day weekend arrives, we know many of our Basehor residents will be spending time with family and friends and making the most of the last days of summer. The Basehor Police Department asks our community to celebrate responsibly and make safe choices.

Basehor Police Department joins law enforcement across the country to remind drivers to Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over. If you intend to drink, don't drive. Designate a sober driver or call a rideshare.

Today SRO LeManske welcomed an amazing group of girls to the police department for a hands-on tour and a behind the scenes look at law enforcement.

Some of the fun activities included running in body armor, learning about fingerprints, and exploring SRO LeManske's patrol car.
