Chamber Post: Morris County, NJ:

(MORRISTOWN, NJ) Morris County congratulates Chief of Detectives Robert “Bob” McNally of the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office on the occasion of his retirement following more than 30 years of service in law enforcement.

McNally’s retirement was marked Friday with a walkout ceremony at the Morris County Administration & Records Building attended by Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll, First Assistant Prosecutor Maggie Calderwood, Morris County Sheriff James M. Gannon, members of the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office and Sheriff’s Office, the Morris County Police Chiefs Association, local police departments and other colleagues throughout the years.

Commissioner Director Stephen H. Shaw presented McNally with a framed Resolution of Honor on behalf of the Morris County Board of County Commissioners, recognizing his law enforcement career and service to the United States as a United States Marine.

After three decades spent serving in the military, federal law enforcement and the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, McNally leaves behind a career defined not only by the cases he investigated and the agency he led, but by the colleagues, victims, families and communities he served along the way.

Chamber Post: Hunterdon County, NJ:

(FLEMINGTON, NJ) Hunterdon County Historical Society (HCHS) Trustee President Peter Goodell, a lifelong county resident will take attendees a step back in time on a stroll through historic Flemington.

This fall, HCHS will offer two walking tours of Flemington’s Main Street. The first, at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 12, will focus on the northern section of Main Street. The second, at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17, will explore the southern half of town past Church Street.

The tours will feature rare photographs from the early 1900s, taken by Flemington photographer Asher Stryker, presented alongside modern views of downtown streets, stories of vanished or altered buildings and the movers and shakers who once lived and worked in them and a look at how Flemington’s downtown has changed over the past 120-plus years.

Asher Stryker (1877–1955) photographed Flemington and surrounding communities in the early 1900s, capturing houses, businesses, churches, farms, and schools. In 2021, his descendants donated 1,278 glass-plate negatives to HCHS.

Tour leader Peter Goodell has spent months researching the photographs, identifying locations and uncovering stories about the people and places they depict.

(SOMERVILLE, NJ) Preparedness begins before a disaster strikes. Somerset County is joining the nation in recognizing this September.

“Preparedness is more than a checklist. It is a commitment to protecting our families, neighbors, and communities,” said Commissioner Director Shanel Y. Robinson. “National Preparedness Month reminds us that readiness is a shared responsibility. By taking simple steps today, we strengthen Somerset County’s ability to respond and recover together when emergencies occur. The choices made today help protect families, neighbors, and the County throughout the year.”

This year’s national theme, , encourages individuals and families to take pride in their ability to prepare for, protect against, and recover from emergencies. From September 1 to September 30, 2026, residents can stop by Somerset County Headquarters to explore an informational table full of free-to-take educational items about National Preparedness Month. The table is located on the first floor of the headquarters building at 20 Grove Street in Somerville.

Chamber Post: Chamber Student Interns Wanted

(SOMERSET HILLS, NJ) The Bernards Township Regional Chamber of Commerce has opened up their Student Internship Program for the 2024 Year. Junior High & High School Students from across the Somerset Hills Communities can apply to join this program.

The Bernards Township Regional Chamber of Commerce internship program allows students to complete community service hours by working on the Chamber's various projects and programs. They learn time management skills, writing skills and more. Many have acquired part time jobs from our members and others have gotten full time employment after college graduation.

Thirty positions are open.
