Proud to join friends and neighbors in honoring our fallen veterans during today’s “Laying of the Wreath” ceremony at Veteran’s Memorial Park in Smithville.

As you breathe today, close your eyes for just a moment and remember that you do so with freedom and liberty because somebody sacrificed theirs for yours.

Honor their sacrifice with gratitude.

Honor it with service.

Honor it with good work.

And honor it by living lives worthy of those who gave everything for this country.

May God bless our veterans, our lost warriors, our Gold Star families, the United States military, and the United States of America. 🇺🇸

Too many Texans have died at the hands of repeat criminals.

I was honored to join Governor Abbott in support of his four new public safety initiatives to crack down on bad actors and keep our streets safe.

Last session, we delivered the toughest bail reform package in Texas history. Now, we are building on that success to:

➡️ deny bail for illegal immigrants charged with felonies
➡️ remove rogue DAs, and
➡️ get repeat offenders off the streets.

Texans deserve law and order.

I was honored to welcome agriculture leaders from across Texas and colleagues from the Capitol for a day focused on the industries that help drive our state — from beef cattle, cotton, groundwater, watermelon production, and so much more.

We topped it all off with BBQ, baby goats, chicks, and a Watermelon Seed Spitting Contest!

Thank you to the Luling Foundation, Texas Ag Council, and our County Farm Bureaus for sponsoring another incredible event in the greatest district in Texas to celebrate our mighty Texas Ag industry, and the hardworking people who make it possible.

Big fun picking blackberries at the Elgin Christmas Tree Farm today! Tons of berries plus a playscape, bounce houses, a maze, a train, and lots of space for the kiddos to run. A great family-owned business to support right here in the district (and not far from ATX)!

They’ll be open again for Mother’s Day from 8:30 a.m.–12 p.m, and even more next weekend.

Cobbler on the menu tonight … what’s your favorite recipe? 🥧

I joined more than 500 faith leaders and Texans gathered in Round Rock this morning to attend the Governor’s Prayer Breakfast and partake in the power of prayer.

We pray that God would continue to bless Texas and those who call it home.

Sam, Stanley and I were honored to attend the 100th birthday celebration of Mrs. Gertrude Lorenz in Giddings.

Known for her unmatched domino skills and as the matriarch of a fine family—now spanning 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren—she is truly a source of wisdom and inspiration. Having witnessed a century of remarkable change, Gertrude’s life is a testament to resilience and grace.

We were proud to celebrate alongside so many friends and family at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Happy Birthday to one of District 17’s finest!
