Bastrop ISD has named Christopher Turner as the new principal of Cedar Creek Elementary (CCE). Turner will assume the position in the coming weeks.
“I am incredibly excited and honored to join Bastrop ISD and become part of the Cedar Creek Elementary Eagle family,” Turner said. “I believe strong schools are built on the foundation of the three R’s: relationships, relevance, and rigor. My goal is to be a visible leader who works alongside staff, students, and families to create a positive and engaging environment where every child is challenged, supported, and inspired to succeed. I believe parents are our most important partners in education, and I look forward to building meaningful connections with the Cedar Creek community.”
Turner brings extensive leadership experience to his new role. Most recently, he has served as principal of Legacy Traditional School in Cibolo, Texas, a PreK - 8th grade campus, where he led significant improvements in academic performance, school culture, staff engagement, and family satisfaction.
Additionally, Turner has served students and families in a variety of educational leadership roles, including classroom teacher, special education department chair, instructional lead, and campus administrator. In each role, he has demonstrated strengths in relationship building, instructional leadership, strategic planning, community engagement, and fostering positive campus culture. He is known for his collaborative style, commitment to excellence, and dedication to supporting both students and staff.
“Chris is deeply committed to student success and building a strong school community,” said Dr. Kristi Lee, Superintendent of Bastrop ISD. “His experience leading campus improvement efforts, supporting teachers, and building meaningful relationships with students and families makes him an outstanding fit for Cedar Creek Elementary.”
Turner is a doctoral candidate in educational leadership at Liberty University. He holds a master’s degree in educational leadership from Arizona State University and a bachelor’s degree in English/creative writing from SUNY Binghamton University.
Outside of education, Turner enjoys traveling, spending time with family, and cheering on his favorite team, the Philadelphia Eagles.
