Bastrop Middle School is proud to recognize science teachers Chelsea Murray and Jennifer Adamson, along with BMS Math/Science District Coach Michelle Miller, for their work with the ALIGN (AI Literacy for Innovation, Growth, and Networking) Initiative through The University of Texas at Austin's Texas Advanced Computing Center.

Over the past nine months, this team participated in a statewide cohort focused on AI literacy, ethical implementation, and innovative classroom practices. Through their learning and collaboration with educators across Texas, they helped highlight the need for thoughtful guidance regarding artificial intelligence in education, work that contributed to the development of the BISD AI Guiding Coalition.

This weekend, they presented "Transforming the Classroom with AI" at the WeTeach_CS Summit in San Antonio, sharing how AI can be used responsibly to support teaching, learning, and student success.

We are proud of these educators for representing Bastrop Middle School, embracing innovative learning opportunities, and helping lead important conversations about the future of education.

Earlier in May, Coach Tracie hosted an AMAZING Spring Showcase filled with empowerment, confidence, and fearless performances. We are so proud of every dancer who took the stage and shined!

Shoutout to Ms. Ramirez! 🎉

Not only did she proudly represent Bastrop Middle School, but she also represented BISD this week as she presented to TEA on the Teacher Time Analysis and Supports Initiative!

This important initiative focuses on understanding how teachers spend their time and finding ways to improve systems that impact their daily work. By combining teacher voice and data, the goal is to create more efficient practices, strengthen working conditions, and support teacher retention.

Dear Class of 2030,
We are so proud of you. During your time at Bastrop Middle School, you accomplished so much, from falling down and getting back up, to making new friends and discovering who you are. As you head into summer and begin this exciting new chapter, always remember: you are resilient, special, smart, and capable of amazing things.
You now have so many people in your corner, cheering you on every step of the way. And if life ever feels a little overwhelming, throw on some Taylor Swift, dance it out, and keep going.

Yesterday we celebrated an outstanding group of 8th graders as they prepare for their next journey! 🎓 We are so proud to send these students on to high school after they helped set the standard of excellence at Bastrop Middle School. Whether their next chapter takes them to Bastrop High School or CRCA, we know they will continue to make us proud and accomplish amazing things. Once a Bear, always a Bear! 🐻✨
