The heart of the Work in Bastrop initiative has always been about more than filling jobs, it’s about building a stronger, more resilient community.

In 2024, the Bridging Bastrop Board set out to create a different kind of workforce event, one that welcomes those entering, changing, or re-entering the workforce, while showcasing opportunities right here in Bastrop County.

After two years of collaboration with our partners, we’re proud to share that our April 30 event was another success!

-30 Employers
-200 Participants
-Opportunities across education, government, social services, and more

This event was powered by partnership and a shared belief in our local workforce.

To everyone who showed up, thank you. The future of Bastrop County is bright, and we’re just getting started.

Let's get together for **National Night Out** on October 7th! This is a fantastic evening where neighbors across the country come together with local first responders to build stronger, safer communities. It's a great opportunity to get to know one another and strengthen our neighborhood bonds.

You can celebrate with neighbors, city staff and officials at your favorite local park, or make an adventure of it and visit them all! There will be food, games, music and the chance to meet local law enforcement and first responders at each location, so there's something for everyone to enjoy.

Come on out and let's make our city even stronger, together. We can't wait to see you there!

Good morning, Bastrop!

It is that time of year again when our community members and our First Responders gather for some good food, drinks and conversation.

This year, local community members and organizations will host events in some of our local parks City of Bastrop, TX Parks & Recreation for example the Senior Center will host a gathering at Jewell Hodges Park.

Don't be Shy, come say Hi, and Enjoy yourself!
