πŸ’΅ Managing bills and paperwork can feel overwhelming. We can help.

The ask marshall Financial Management Program through Lifespan of Greater Rochester Inc. provides older adults with one-on-one assistance to make everyday finances and paperwork a little easier.

We can help with:

πŸ“¬ Sorting and reviewing mail
πŸ’΅ Organizing bills and finances
πŸ“ Creating a household budget
βœ‰οΈ Paying bills and completing paperwork
πŸ“‹ Understanding forms and applications
πŸ”Ž Connecting with benefits and other resources you may qualify for

You don't have to figure everything out on your own. Sometimes having someone sit beside you and work through things one step at a time can make all the difference.

☎️ Call the ask marshall line housed at OFA at 585-815-7979 to learn more.

ask marshall is made possible through the Muriel H. Marshall Fund held at Rochester Area Community Foundation.

πŸ“ OFA Outreach is On the Move Across Genesee County! πŸš—πŸ’™

You may have noticed Kimberly from the Genesee County Office for the Aging out and about lately, and she’s covering a lot of ground!

From libraries, town halls, churches and community events to police and fire departments, healthcare organizations, senior housing, festivals, bingo nights and even the County Fair, Kimberly is working to make sure community members throughout Genesee County know about the programs, services and supports available through Office for the Aging and NY Connects.

Why do we do this? Because not everyone knows where to start when they need helpβ€”and not everyone can come to us.

OFA can help older adults, caregivers and families connect with information about:
πŸ”Ή Medicare and health insurance
πŸ”Ή Caregiver support and respite
πŸ”Ή Meals and nutrition
πŸ”Ή Transportation
πŸ”Ή In-home services and supports
πŸ”Ή Health, wellness and social programs
πŸ”Ή Benefits and community resources
πŸ”Ή And much more!

Our goal is simple: meet people where they are and make it easier to connect with help. OFA can be reached at 585-343-1611.

πŸ‘‹ If you see Kimberly and the OFA table out in the community, stop by and say hello! Ask a question, pick up some information, or just learn a little more about what your Office for the Aging has to offer.

Have you served in the military? Do you have questions about VA healthcare?

The Genesee County Office for the Aging wants to make sure veterans know about the healthcare benefits they have earned through their service. While the Office for the Aging provides services to support older adults, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs offers healthcare benefits and services that many veterans may not be aware they qualify for.

Beginning in September 2026, the VA will host Veteran Healthcare Informational Sessions on the third Thursday of every month from 9:00–10:30 a.m. at the VA Medical Center, Building 3, Room G-01, 222 Richmond Ave., Batavia.

During these free sessions, you'll learn:
πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ How to access your VA healthcare benefits
πŸ₯ How to navigate the VA healthcare system
πŸ“‹ Information about New York State veterans' compensation benefits

Thank you to all who have served. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ
