On Saturday, September 13th, our department will conduct a fire hydrant flushing exercise throughout the town. Please be aware that temporary discolored water or low pressure may occur. In the event of discolored water, we suggest allowing your water to run until it clears. If you experience reduced water pressure, please be patient, as normal pressure will be restored upon completion of our exercise. This essential exercise enables our department to remove sediment from our water mains, ensuring the integrity of our water infrastructure and allowing our members to familiarize themselves with hydrant locations. Thank you for your understanding and patience.

On Monday, South winds of 15 to 25 MPH with gusts up to 35 mph will combine with humidity values as low as 25% and dry fuels to create critical fire weather conditions. A Fire Weather Watch has been issued for parts of eastern Iowa and northeast Missouri from late morning into the evening.

A Red Flag Warning has been issued area-wide today, as strong southeasterly winds, unseasonably warm temperatures, and dry antecedent conditions result in a very high risk for fire spread. Please be mindful if working in fields and try to avoid burning today!
