The Genesee County Highway Department will be completing the remaining work on Richley Road in the Town of Darien related to the bridge replacement project.

Work will include milling and paving portions of the roadway to finish the project and improve the driving surface. Richley Road will be closed to through traffic while work is underway.

Motorists are asked to avoid the work area and use caution near construction crews. Thank you for your patience as this project is brought to completion.

Genesee County Highway crews will be completing paving work on Warboys Road, West Bergen Road, and Prole Road throughout this week and into next, as conditions and scheduling allow.

During active work hours, affected roads will be closed to general public traffic. Residents who live on these roads will be permitted access to and from their homes. Roads will reopen for full public access overnight. Emergency vehicles will have access at all times.

Motorists are asked to plan accordingly, use alternate routes during work hours, and use caution around roadway crews and equipment.

In observance of Memorial Day, Genesee County offices will be closed on Monday, May 25.

Genesee County was pleased to welcome Alexander fourth-grade students for a tour of County facilities today, giving them an inside look at the people and services that support their community each day.

During their visit, students learned about the Genesee County Clerk’s Office, the Genesee County Sheriff's Office and Emergency Dispatch Center, the Genesee County Legislature, and the Genesee County District Attorney’s Office.

Opportunities like this help connect young residents with local government, introduce them to public service, and show how County departments work together to serve and protect the community.

Thank you to the Alexander Central School students and staff for spending the day with Genesee County, and to the County representatives who helped make the visit informative and memorable!
