Central Joint Fire-EMS District Explorers

Central Joint Fire-EMS District Explorers A great introductory program into the fire service for those between the ages of 14 to 18. Members typically do ride-time after school and on the weekends.

Central Joint Fire-EMS District is located in southwest Ohio's Clermont County. The Explorer program is open to youth between the ages of 14-18 who have or may have in interest in public service as a career. We pride ourselves in doing as much hands on training as we possibly can. Trainings are conducted 1 to 2 nights per month (7pm-930pm) and the occasional Saturday. Trainings include basic firef

ighting skills, first aid and CPR and we cover our many disciplines of technical rescue. Through these trainings, members are taught to improve on leadership, communication and problem solving skills. New members begin in a probationary status and after completing a skill review are released to ride with on-duty crews to emergency calls and assist as needed. To be eligible: any person between the age of 14 to 18, in school with at least a "C" average and no disciplinary issues. At the age of 18, the member is encouraged to apply to the District to become a volunteer firefighter. If you or anyone you know may have in interest in this program, please reach out to me. Are you between the ages of 14-18 and have an interest in seeing if the fire service is right for you?

We currently have 2 open positions for the program!

Here are just a few of the things CJFED's Explorers have been up to over the summer. Cadets do hand-on drills such as these monthly.
From advancing charged hose lines and performing a search to forcible entry and auto-extrication, our Cadets gain a vast amount of experience into the fire service.

If you or someone you know (ages 14 - 18) might have an interest in the fire service, please reach out to us.

We have developed a great introductory program to highlight many of the skills it takes to be a firefighter. Respond on emergency calls, learn life saving techniques, make great friends and become a leader.
