Alice Gustafson School & Early Childhood PTO Alice Gustafson School and Early Childhood Parent Teacher Organization Born on May 2, 1892, she graduated from Batavia High School in 1911.

Our school was named in honor of Miss Alice Gustafson, a prominent Batavian and respected educator. She was an educator in Batavia from 1922-1956, serving as a teacher at both Grace McWayne School and Louise White School. For the last 18 years of her career she was the principal of Louise White School. She died on June 12, 1979. Alice Gustafson School was opened in 1957 and was dedicated on Februa

ry 9, 1958. Four additions have been made to the original Alice Gustafson School building. The first was completed in 1969 , the second in 1989, the third in 2000, and the most recent addition, the district Early Childhood Center, was completed in 2008. Current enrollment at Alice Gustafson school is approximately 400 students, with a staff of approximately 60 certified and non-certified individuals for the K-12 program. Open Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 9-2… is the perfect place to snuggle goats and watch the animals—plus grab some delicious soup and don’t skip key lime pie.

Feeding + snuggling the goats is free and the market inside is phenomenal and reasonably priced!

I can’t emphasize this enough…get there early and grab a key lime pie this weekend…you won’t be disappointed. 🍋‍🟩
