📣 Calling all parents: Know the Code Before They Ride

Not all e-bikes and e-scooters are designed for riders of every age.

Under Batavia's e-mobility ordinance:
đź›´ E-scooters are permitted for riders ages 18 and older.
🚲 Class 3 e-bikes, which can reach higher speeds, are permitted for riders ages 16 and older.

Before allowing your child to ride, take a moment to check the manufacturer's age recommendations and understand the rules that apply to each device. Parents and guardians play an important role in helping young riders learn traffic laws, safety practices, and responsible riding habits.

Knowing the code before you ride helps keep riders, pedestrians, and the entire community safe.
