🎃👻 A Spooktacular Night at CNE High School! 🚒🍬

Tonight, our department joined the community for an incredible evening of fun, laughter, and just the right amount of spookiness!

Tiny goblins, brave superheroes, beautiful princesses, and all sorts of little monsters filled the parking lot at CNE High School for the PTO’s Trunk or Treat!

From the creative costumes to the big smiles and cheerful waves, we enjoyed every minute of this Halloween adventure!

A huge thank-you to the PTO for putting together such a wonderful event and to our community for letting us be part of an evening filled with laughter, memories, and plenty of sugar-fueled fun!

Structure Fire Response – Wayne Township

This morning, at approximately 2:55 a.m., crews from Stations 40 and 41 responded to a reported structure fire in the 6100 block of Taylor Pike in Wayne Township.

Chief 40, Engine 40, Engine 41, and Quint 40, alongside several departments, worked for approximately four hours to bring the fire under control and extinguish it.

While incidents like these are never something we hope to encounter, they serve as an important reminder of the continued need for dedicated, well-trained, and prepared fire and EMS personnel within our communities.

A special thank you to Engine 73 from Williamsburg Township and Engine 29 from Miami Township for providing station coverage (move-up) while our on-duty crews were committed to the structure fire. Their assistance helped ensure that emergency response capabilities remained available to our community throughout the incident.

We are proud to serve our community and grateful for the continued support of our mutual aid partners. Their teamwork, dedication, and willingness to assist demonstrate the importance of strong partnerships between neighboring fire departments.

This week's update on our twin truck refurbishment from Brindlee Mountain Fire Apparatus:

Engine 5:

* SCBA tube fabrication is underway (Tubes to hold spare SCBA bottles are being installed in the fender wells)
* The body and red on the cab have been painted
* The ladder rack and the rear of the cab are on track to be painted this week
* This truck is on track to be complete at the paint facility next week

Engine 6:

* The truck is back from the engine shop with engine work, radiator, air cooler and transmission tasks completed
* New air governor installed, batteries replaced and cables cleaned
* Vogel auto-lube installed, wiring over the rear axle cleaned up and driveshaft reinstalled
* Medical cabinet webbing installed
* Cab corner spotlights, step lighting, and new rear cab interior lights (wired to the door switches) installed - the step lights still need to be wired in
* Air horn rebuilt, pump panel labels and tags replaced, bump stops replaced, fold down step mounting is in progress
* Body cracks were welded at the fabrication facility
* Cab door panels, mirrors and light assemblies were removed and the truck was moved to the north campus to prepare for paint

We're pleased to see this much progress made in the past couple of weeks! The journey for this refurbishment process is starting to enter the final stages and we couldn't be more excited to see and share the finished product with our members and the community that these trucks will serve!!

Danielle has played a vital role as a paramedic in our community, dedicating herself to caring for others during some of their most difficult moments. Her compassion, strength, and commitment to serving those around her have made a lasting impact, and we could not be prouder to have her as part of our fire and EMS family.

Now, as Danielle faces a battle of her own, it is our turn to stand beside her.

We will continue to support her from the sidelines, encourage her through every step, and remind her that she does not face this fight alone. The same dedication Danielle has shown to her patients, her coworkers, and her community is the dedication we now promise to show her.

Danielle, your fire and EMS family is behind you. We are here to support you, encourage you, and walk alongside you through this battle with strength, compassion, and care.

Your dedication to others has always been clear — and so is ours to you.

We’re with you, Danielle. Let’s see you through this together.
