Batavia High School alumni and women in STEM, Tessa Day (2015) and Diane Kazlauski (2016), both undergrads in the College of Biological Science at the University of Minnesota, recently won gold in the 2019 Acara Challenge.

According to the University's Institute on the Environment, Acara is a "program for people interested in learning about and developing innovative solutions to the world’s grand challenges."

Tessa, Diane, and one of their classmates, Amy Yi, rose to the challenge with MoyoMate (http://bit.ly/2YO7xWb), a project designed to raise hypertension awareness in urban Uganda. Full story: http://bit.ly/2TTxoID

Alum News ... Batavia High School graduate (2018) Keegan Hawkins swam at the NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving National Championships in Indianapolis this weekend. His team, Grand Valley State University, finished fifth in the nation and Keegan placed seventh in the 400 individual medley, earning him All-America honors. Congrats to Keegan!

Members of the Class of 1998 were at Batavia High School today for their 20th reunion/school tour and are now off to Batavia MainStreet's Oktoberfest! Alumni were surprised to see the Batavia Fine Arts Centre, Building Trades workshop, INCubator Entrepreneurship classroom, field house, music wing, culinary arts, remodeled C118 classroom, art studio, cafeteria, and more. BHS has got it going on!
