We are dedicated to protecting the lives and property of the citizens in the City of Batesville.

🚨 Services:
We are here for you 24/7, providing emergency fire services within the city limits

. Our team responds to fires, alarms, vehicle crashes, hazardous materials incidents, and assists EMS when needed. We also conduct Community Risk Reduction through fire investigation, code inspections for businesses, and comprehensive fire safety education.

🔥 Training & Preparedness:
Our firefighters train rigorously to stay ready for any situation. Daily in-house drills cover structural firefighting, search and rescue, vehicle extrication, and hazardous materials response. We utilize our live-fire training facility and seek additional training from renowned institutions across the Southeastern United States.

🏫 Fire & Life Safety Programs:
Your safety is our priority. We run year-round initiatives like:

Fire Prevention Month in October, educating children on fire safety. Annual "Fire Academy for Kids" program in June, with safety presentations by partnering agencies. Firewise USA participation, strengthening resilience against wildland fires. Smoke Alarm Installation program, providing free smoke alarms to homes in our community. NFPA's Steps to Safety program, educating older adults on fire and fall prevention.

During testing, residents may notice temporary water discoloration or brief changes in water pressure.

The water is safe to drink, but discolored water may taste unpleasant and can stain clothing. Please avoid washing clothes if your water is discolored.

If your water appears discolored, run cold water from an outside faucet or bathtub until it clears.

The strongest storms may bring very large hail, damaging winds, and a few tornadoes.

Storms may happen more than once. Stay alert, even after one storm passes.

Have more than one way to get weather warnings. Be ready to go to a safe place if a warning is issued.

Batesville Fire Department will be conducting hydrant testing in the following areas today:

• Hwy 51 South (200 block up to the 700 block)
• Hwy 51 South near Perkins Ln
• Hwy 6 East (around the 300 block)

What to expect:
• Temporary discoloration of water
• Possible drops in water pressure

If you experience discolored water, run cold water until it clears. Please use caution when washing clothes during this time.

Hydrant testing continues this week. Tomorrow, we'll be testing areas listed below.

During this time, you may lose water pressure, and your water may be discolored. The water is safe to drink, but it may taste bad and stain clothing. These side effects will clear up after a few hours. Run your taps clear before doing laundry.

• Perkins Ln area (including Smith St, Jones St, Latitia St, and near the overhead bridge / Delta Uniform)

• Eureka St corridor (including areas near Mackey St, Church St, and warehouse locations)
